Joyful Trip began with a simple frustration: most China tours felt like checking boxes. Rush to the Forbidden City, snap a photo, onto the next. The food was tourist traps. The guides read from scripts. The real China stayed hidden behind the bus window.
We started small — a handful of friends, a few local guides, and the belief that travel should be slow enough to actually taste, hear, and feel a place. Today we''re a team of 20+ across four Chinese cities, but the philosophy hasn''t changed.
Every itinerary is built around people: local guides who grew up here, homestay hosts who share their kitchens, artisans who still practice centuries-old crafts. We don''t do whistle-stop tours. We do journeys that stay with you.
